What is a database anyway?

A database is simply a digital collection of information that is organized in a way to make the information retrievable.

Libraries databases include collections of scholarly articles, newspapers, photos, eBooks, and interactive sites.  It is important to choose the database that contains the kind of information you need.

Isn't all this available on the Internet already?

Some information may be, but a lot is not, and you would have to sift through a lot of useless information to find what you need.  Using the right database is a shortcut to excellent information, I promise!
