2015 / 2016 Junior BOB Readers!

Jr. BOB 2016 / 2017

Junior Battle of the Books started  October 26, 2016 at Tomahawk Elementary School!  Students will be reading and discussing a variety of books over the course of the school year!  Jr. BOB is a fun way to enjoy books and discuss them with others to share the joy of books!

The Library Media Center is pleased to continue with the Junior Battle of the Books for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students for a third year!

  • Jr. BOB participation is strictly voluntary and designed to be a fun engaging opportunity for students to share their love of books and reading!
  • Students will be working independently. 
  • Reading will take place predominately at home, parents are encouraged to work with their students!
  • Students will be asked to “sign up” by Wedneday October 26, 2016 in the library. 
  • Start Up Meeting Friday October 28, 2016 immediately following morning announcements meet in Elementary Library.

Junior BOB is a fun way to...

  • explore genre's you would not normally choose to read!
  • meet your classroom home reading requirements!
  • discuss books with others!
  • share what you think of the books you have read!
  • explore story plots, settings, characters, and meaning!
  • Most of all, Junior BOB is all about challenging yourself to a fun reading adventure! 

What is expected?

  • Students read what they can from the book selection
  • Take notes of what they are reading to understand story elements of plot, setting, characters, and meaning
  • Talk about the books they are reading with their family and with other Junior BOB members
  • Stay with the program to the end and be willing to grow in reading!
